Maui, Part 2

After staying in a condo for four nights we drove up the west coast in Maui to The Westin to begin our second leg of the trip- the Pampered Chef portion! Hawaii will be my third incentive trip and we are always blown away by the luxurious travel accommodations and special treatment we get- 5 star all the way... These incentive trips are purely for pleasure and there are not any conferences or anything along those lines. Pampered Chef normally plans a big welcome dinner, some type of optional tour or excursion during your stay and a farewell event, everything else is up to you! Breakfast's are normally included and you can also sign up for tours booked through their team if you wish. We had an amazing time in Maui and met some lifelong friends that we cannot wait to travel with next year. Because we were so busy on the Big Island and when we had our condo we returned our rental car and spent a lot of time pool/beach lounging with our new friends! Each morning we would set up our "station" by the pool and our core group would chillax. What an amazing time! Definitely my favorite Pampered Chef trip thus far because of the people we got to know better. Here are some highlights:
The Westin had 5 large pools including a big twirly slide and a number of waterfalls. We hung out at the adult pool mainly which was super relaxing and we had a great waitress who let us sneak in coolers and store-bought alcohol instead of paying pool prices for drinks.
Bird's eye view of the hotel... The best part is that it was whale season so we could see mama and baby whales breaching and flapping their fins just off the shore. SO neat!
Flamingos and huge koi fish in the lobby
We have arrived! Time for some "Pampering" ;)
First of many poolside meals... James opted for the burger which was pretty decent
I decided on the mahi mahi fish tacos... These were awesome!
James and I at the welcoming event which was a really delicious buffet with singing, dancing and some drinks ;)
HAHA! Things got a bit wild ;)
Here is a snapshot of all the incentive earners and their guests.. You do have the option to buy in your children if you wish. On the left in the blue Hawaiian shirts are all of the silver achievers meaning they earned the trip to Maui. On the right is the gold achievers and we carried onto Kauai for 3 days and 2 nights.. I felt very fortunate to be one of 19 consultants who earned the gold level. YAY!
Pampered Chef took us on a whale watching and snorkeling trip.. This is a mama whale with her baby to the right. SO neat to see them so close!
Back to the pool! These pulled pork nachos were SO DAMN GOOD! James loved them and still talks about them and the generous amount of pork haha.
That evening we headed out with our good friends Norm and Deb for an amazing dinner at "Leilanis on the Beach" located right next door to The Westin. One of the best parts about our hotel location is that you can literally pop over next door and shop in your bare feet or dine at a few different options.. Dangerous ;)
We had SUCH an amazing dinner! The food and company were superb ;)
"Blue crab cakes" to start with roasted garlic for $12.95.. YUM!
Scallops & shrimp in the most AMAZING sweet sauce EVER!
James chose this local fish which was a white flaky fish with a delicate flavor that was coated in macadamia nuts and pan seared. He also chose some coconut shrimp to add to his order.
I chose the sesame crusted ahi tuna with a balsamic glaze and wasabi cream... and some coconut shrimp of course. This was incredible- definitely one of the best meals I had while I was in Hawaii. I haven't been able to eat seafood in Calgary since!
Norm decided to order this incredible "Hula Pie" for dessert and I am SO glad that he did... The menu jokes "this is what the sailors swam to shore for in Lahania"... Ice cream cake with rich chocolate and of course- the token macadamia nuts for $7.95... I would like some more of this right now!
Mixing up some early morning sangria poolside ;)
Poolside caesar salad with popcorn shrimp.. Really enjoyed this!
Sports Illustrated 2012 ;)
Super fun day at the pool!
James and I headed into Lahania for dinner one night and James caught this shot... Love it!
At Bubba Gump. We have never been so thought we would check it out.
Best part of the meal! This cajun shrimp was awesome.
shrimp mac n' cheese! Loved the shrimp I am going to try and make this.
I ordered the "Shrimper's Heaven" for $21.49 and I wouldn't really consider this heaven at all... There was hand breaded coconut shrimp, chilly shrimp, fried shrimp and tempura shrimp.. The peel & eat chilly shrimp wasn't deveined and more of a pain in the ass than anything.. Everything else was just sort of full of batter so I wouldn't order this again.
Another view of my overrated tower.
This was pretty good actually.. James ordered the scampi linguini with lemon garlic butter for $17.89... We were so full by the end as you can see!
So many amazing moments.. This is my upline Micheline on Valentine's Day- she got me a beautiful bracelet :)
James and I at the "Farewell Maui" event
Mellisa and I- she's one of the most successful consultants in Canada :)
Pretty place settings. Love all the fresh flowers.
Farewell Maui dinner starter salad
Great dinner entertainment
Dinner entree which was steak with a demi glace, risotto, asparagus and mushrooms. Really good but I sure filled up quick on beef after eating so much seafood for a week.
Dessert reception.. and Elvis of course. What a fun party!!!
An epic dance party ensued. What a fun night :)
