WURST Brunch

Brunch at WURST was definitely NOT the worst brunch I have ever had.. In fact it rates in my top 3 of all time. I met my sister-in-law here on Saturday morning for an early morning catch up and we had a sinfully HEAVENLY meal! It was binge day and the menu sounded so mouthwatering, as usual. WURST restaurant and beer hall are located at 2437 4th Street SW beside Tin Palace Earls and if you haven't been yet- book a reso! There are so many great things on their lunch and dinner menu which can be followed by a giant boot o' beer in their German Style beer hall. We were the first ones there at 10:30 am and had a great meal... Can't stop thinking about it! Here is what we had:
Shonna chose the smoked salmon and double cream brie benedict with fried capers and Hallandaise sauce that was served on a cheese & herb biscuit, heavenly pan potatoes with bacon chunks inside and a mixed green salad for $18. This meal was FILLING due to the biscuit base but absolutely to die for. Shonna raved over the potatoes and really enjoyed this.
I chose the "Brown Butter Wild Mushroom and Comte" benedict that was easily one of the best benedicts I've ever had. Atop the biscuit there were leeks, wilted spinach and Hollandaise sauce. The browned butter really gave this dish a nutty flavor and I ADORED the wild mushrooms of all different shapes and sizes for $17.  Can't wait to take James here!
Oh. My.... We were stuffed but wisely decided to try one of their desserts. This a-mazing jam jar contained white chocolate mousse, raspberry jam and the best part- a thick base of praline that would make a grown woman weep. The jar was served with two pistachio shortbread cookies for $8.50. This was unbelievable and moaning ensued.. *DROOL!*
