Healthy chocolate chip banana muffins

on

Mmmm the house smelt amazing Sunday morning!
James was camping Saturday night and I got up early to clean the house and popped some muffins in.. I found this recipe at "What's Cooking.ca" and they turned out really great. I would bake a lot more often but the calories, butter and sugar just kill me! These were a healthy alternative and I tweaked a bit too. Here's the recipe to make 12 muffins:
Ingredients:
3 large very ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup Splenda
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Mash the bananas in a large bowl. Add sugar and mix until well blended. Add in egg and applesauce, and beat together. Without stirring, add the dry ingredients to the bowl. Once they are all added together, stiry the dry ingredients a bit, then incorporate the wet ingredients and stir just until moistened. Stir in the chocolate chips and spoon into medium muffin tins well greased or with liners. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in 350 oven.
