Don Quijote Spanish Restaurant- Foreplay Friday!

Don Quijote is a super fun place to go for a delicious meal and some salsa dancing! We had our monthly Foreplay Friday this past Friday and decided to dine here and take in some of the nightlife... We ended up at the French Maid after all but the food was delicious! Don Quijote is located at 309 2nd Avenue SW across from Eau Claire. We were a bit apprehensive at the $35/person price point initially for two courses but the food was fantastic! Here is what we dined on:
Lobster bisque. Delicious and perfectly seasoned. Bisque is a smooth, creamy, highly-seasoned soup of French origin, classically based on a strained broth of crustaceans such as LOBSTER!
Sauteed garlic prawns. They were delicious!
Calamari.. To be honest some of the best calamari I have ever had. The squid was NOT chewy at all and the batter was light almost like a tempura. I really liked the flavorful marinara sauce as well. Delicious!
Starter caesar, nicely dressed and not soaked in dressing. The croutons were homemade and super yummy too.
Don Quiote's famous paella!!! SO YUMMY! Paella is a Spanish dish that normally consists of white rice, green vegetables, meat, beans and most often seafood. If you go to Mexico you will often see a big paella being cooked up right on the beach a few times a week with fresh seafood. The saffron rice in this dish was cooked to perfection. DELICIOUS!
Two of the ladies ordered the "Don Quiote chicken" which they were raving about. It was unbelievably flavorful and moist- we all really loved the cream sauce on top of the chicken. YUM!
Thanks for another successful Foreplay Friday loves! Can't wait for next month! Although we need to pick a date and draw a name! oOoPs!
