I OFTEN get asked for restaurant recommendations for guests who are from out of town... I love nothing more than giving out a good restaurant recommendation to out of town visitors to really show off the spirit of our city and what we are all about... Here are my top picks:

10. Wine Bar 1131 Kensington Road N.W.
Tapas anyone? I love Wine Bar's tapa style menu, charcuterie platters, cheese specials and wine list. A great place to go before an evening out and to enjoy some great wine in the heart of Kensington

9. Open Sesame 6920 Macleod Trail South
An affordable and unique dining experience. I have taken many visitors who loved the concept and decor.

8. Bolero 6920 Macleod Trail South
When guests come into town I like to show them a unique dining experiences- Bolero fits the bill. With a stop light on your table to indicate if you would like the Brazilian gauchos to keep coming with skewers of meat- it is a fun and interactive way to dine in a unique setting.. Two words: roasted pineapple... MMMMM

7. Alloy 220 42 Avenue S.E.
This restaurant is simply beautiful and the food is incredible. You will not have any complaints. The patio is also gorgeous and I love their wine menu

6. Ristorante Pulcinella 1147 Kensington Crescent N.W.
Serving up TRADITIONAL Napoletana pizza in the heart of Kensington. I love taking friends to this trendy restaurant and have gotten rave reviews.. Although it is not your run of the mill pizza... It is the traditional Italian way with the oven imported all the way from Italy. Try the Nutella pizza for dessert *drool*

5. Teatro 200 8th Avenue S.E.
Teatro is a Calgary classic... Touted as the setting for many events in the business community and Calgary society it has a history for amazing Italian and is in a historic building right by Olympic Plaza so you really get a feel for our city and downtown core.

4. Rouge 1240 8th Avenue S.W.
Making #60 on the world's best restaurant list this year it is sure to be satisfying! Situated near the zoo in historic Inglewood this restaurant is on the pricier side but worth it for a special event or visit :)

3. The Ranche Fish Creek Park
With a history dating back 100 years and in the middle of the biggest park in Calgary this beautiful restaurant serves up wild game and Alberta beef. It's sure to be a hit!

2. River Café 25 Prince's Island Park
I talk about this restaurant often but it really is a gem. With its rustic ambiance in the middle of Prince's Island Park it is sure to be memorable

1. Sky360 Restaurant and Lounge 101 9th Avenue S.W., Calgary Tower
I don't think there is a better way to show off our city! Guests love the revolving restaurant- just don't set your purse on the window sill like I did- you'll find it halfway around the restaurant
